FAISALABAD, Nov 16: No clue to the killer of a trade leader had so far been traced by police on Friday.

Local exporter Rana Haq Nawaz was shot dead in his house while his friend inspector Ijaz Baluch sustained bullet injuries on Wednesday night.

Police sources suspected involvement of some members of his family and friend Ijaz in the mysterious murder.

Details gathered by this correspondent revealed a police team interrogated Ijaz in the hospital and asked him to be available for further questioning.

It was learnt that Ijaz was involved in a number of deaths in police custody but none of the cases was pursued. However, during his posting as Jaranwala SHO, he was arrested following death of a dacoit in police custody.

The case was disposed of when Nawaz paid the diyat to the family of the deceased.

Suspicious of Ijaz
