KARACHI, Oct 26: Sindh Health Minister Dr Saghir Ahmed has directed all vice chancellors of medical universities in Sindh to take foolproof measures for the MBBS and BDS admission tests scheduled to be held on Oct 30.

Candidates from different parts of the province will appear in the admission tests for 1,700 seats for MBBS and BDS programmes offered at different public sector medical and dental colleges as well as universities simultaneously in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana.

Chairing a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for the tests, the minister said the law-enforcement agencies must be assigned responsibilities to ensure security at the designated examination centres.

He asked the provincial health authorities to ensure adequate arrangements for the candidates and proper seating arrangements for the parents accompanying the candidates.

Candidates would appear for 700 seats available at the Dow University of Health Sciences, 350 seats each at the Liaquat University of Medical Sciences and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University in Larkana, 200 seats at the People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences, Shaheed Benazirabad and 100 seats at the Lyari Medical College.—APP
