STOCKHOLM, Oct 24: Former world and European table tennis champion Kjell Johansson of Sweden has died. He was 65.
Walter Ronnmark, chairman of the Swedish Table Tennis Federation, says Johansson died Monday in Eksjo, southern Sweden, after being hospitalised a few weeks ago with an illness.
Johansson won doubles titles at the world championships in 1967, 1969 and 1973. He also won the team title with Sweden in 1973.
Johansson collected 10 European championship gold medals, including both the singles and doubles titles in 1966.—AP
