KARACHI, Nov 14: Four ships carrying containers and high speed diesel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as all the new arrivals as well as those awaiting berths off-port were allotted berths: They are: Sima Bahar, Mar Challenger, Beauty River, Ocean Genius and Chitral to unload and load containers and Conqueror, to offload fertilizer.

Sailing on the other hand was relatively slow as only two ships, APL Jeddah and Sorena departed, while Ocean Genius, Sima Bahar, Al-Ihsaa, Giannis, Chitral, Mar Challenger and MOL Sincerity are expected to sail out on Friday.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers fell to 33 per cent owing to lesser calling by the tankers, while it was maintained on the higher side at 85 per cent on the dry wharves.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 87,816 tons comprising 13,031 tons of export cargo and 74,785 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: W.S. Berber, with oils, Kota Tegap, Cape Henry and Wan Hai-301, with containers.
