Hashmi not yet released

LAHORE, Nov 12: Imprisoned PML-N acting president Makh-doom Javed Hashmi could not be released from the Camp Jail on Tuesday.

“We have not received official intimation in writing from the competent court about his release on bail,” Camp Jail chief Javed Latif told APP. “The moment we get the order, Hashmi will be freed.”

He said that Hashmi was no more required to the jail department in any other criminal case.

The Lahore High Court had bailed out the MNA-elect in an accountability reference on Monday.

Court sources said the delay was on the part of the accused and not from the court. They said Hashmi or his relatives were yet to provide guarantee and surety to the satisfaction of the court.
