QUETTA, Nov 12: National Alliance on Monday elected Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind as its parliamentary party leader in the Balochistan Assembly.

He was elected unanimously at a meeting of the parliamentary party, presided over by Syed Ehsan Shah. Yar Mohammad, MPAs-elect of the alliance, provincial leader of National Awami Party, Razzaq Bugti, and Asad Baloch of Balochistan National Party (Awami) attended the meeting.

Yar Mohammad told reporters that a decision regarding formation of coalition in the province would be made soon and the alliance would contact other parties and groups in this connection.

He said the strength of the Grand National Alliance in the provincial assembly had reached 28, including seven members of the National Alliance.

Responding to a question, Yar Mohammad said a joint candidate for the chief minister’s post would be chosen in a meeting of the GNA, which would also elect its parliamentary leader.

“The next chief minister in Balochistan would be from the GNA,” he claimed.

He said he was in contact with Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement’s leadership for the formation of a coalition government.

Responding to another question, he said that the chief of Jamhoori Watan Party, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, was his elder and if it was necessary, he would not hesitate to visit Dera Bugti.
