NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 8: The Additional District and Sessions Judge of Naushahro Feroze, M.B. Khagija, here on Saturday awarded capital punishment to an accused for murdering his wife. Jamil Ahmed Junejo, a clerk in the district food department, was proved guilty of killing his wife Shahida when she refused to allow him the second marriage. His daughter Laila also received bullet injuries when she tried to save her mother.

While announcing the verdict, the judge also ordered him to pay compensation of Rs100,000 to heirs of deceased and Rs50,000 to his daughter.

In case of failure, the accused would serve an additional imprisonment of one year and nine months.
