ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: The chief of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, Imran Khan, and the vice-president of Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, on Monday asked the government to call the National Assembly session immediately.

During an hour-long meeting between the two leaders, the PTI chief announced to support MMA in its stand, which the alliance had taken on transfer of power to the elected representatives.

Both the leaders expressed identity of views on all national issues, including constitutional amendments and presidential powers.

They said: “We share the view that President Gen Musharraf should leave the post of Chief of Army Staff, if he wants to stay as President.”

They said the President had drew up a shell around his person through unconstitutional acts and ordinances, which he should get rid of to put the country on path of stability and democracy.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed said the religio-political alliance considered Imran Khan representative of a large section of Pakistani population and his views on national and international issues were venerable.

Earlier, Qazi Hussain Ahmed briefed the PTI chairman on details of his meeting with President Musharraf.

Akbar S. Babar, the PTI spokesman of PTI, told newsmen that both the leaders agreed that the deadlock on the transfer of power was creation of the government, which could be ended by the government alone.

He said while discussing the issue of Dr Amir Aziz’s arrest, both the leaders said that the US direct interference was against the sovereignty of nation.

It was decided that the issue would be arisen on the floor of the house and they would ask the American agencies and forces to leave Pakistani bases. Our Reporter Adds:

Imran Khan has condemned the so-called honour killing of three innocent girls by their relatives in Mianwali.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the PTI chief said such killings were un-Islamic and must be condemned by all.

Imran Khan said those, who committed such crimes, must be dealt in accordance with the law.
