LAHORE, Sept 23: Mustafa Town police arrested Hafiz Abdul Waheed, the owner of Azam Garden Housing Scheme, for not laying sewerage and running away with the deposited amount of allottees.

A complaint had been lodged by LDA with the Mutafa Town station house officer for registration of an FIR against owners of the Azam Garden Housing scheme.

The complaint pointed out that the scheme, spread over an area of 734 kanals and located on Multan Road, near Mansoora, was approved by the Lahore Development Authority in 1985. The scheme owners were Hafiz Abdul Hameed and Hafiz Abdul Waheed, R/O 120 Allauddin Road Lahore.

It said they did not make any proper arrangement for the disposal of rainwater due to which storm water accumulated in parks during the rainy season.

They also failed to ensure proper water supply and sewerage system to cater to the needs of residents.

They sold the site reserved for a graveyard where houses had been constructed. — APP
