NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 8: The Bhiria taluka council, which met on Friday after four months, demanded, through a resolution, early payment of four-month salary to sanitary workers of Tharushah.

The session also discussed high rates of fruits, vegetables and other kitchen items and decided to take action against shopkeepers, charging high rates, through magistrate and police.

It also discussed recovery of tax from make-shift cattle bazaars and constituted a committee to revise the tax rates.

Naib Nazim, Lakha Road union council, complained of increase in cases of theft and motorcycle robbery.

The session was presided over by the taluka Naib Nazim, Amanullah Chohan, and attended by the taluka Nazim, Zafar Rajpar, and 16 members out of 20.

INJURED: Two villagers were injured after being shot at by 10 men in Abdul Majeed Dahri village near Sunhari Farm, Moro on Thursday night.

According to the police, Khalifa and Shaukat were at their field when Abdul Rahim Dahri, Ghulam Mohammad Dahri, Ghazi Dahri, Baggan Dahri, Sono, Atta Mohammad, Mashooq, Mirza, Qurban and Shaaban appeared there and asked them to leave the field.

When Khalifa and Shaukat refused, they opened fire and injured them.

RALLY: The activists of the Sindh People’s Students’ Federation staged a rally against sacking of a lady health worker, Shahnaz, in Bhiria on Friday.

They marched on the roads of the city and staged a sit-in outside the local press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Aslam Buriro and others alleged that the medical superintendent of the Bhiria hospital submitted false reports against Shahnaz with ill intentions and got her service terminated.
