KARACHI, Nov 8: Book fairs in educational institutions help foster reading habits among students, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said at the inaugural ceremony of a book fair at the Dow Medical College on Friday.

The two-day programme has been organized by the Islami Jamiat Tulaba, a statement said.

Naimatullah Khan said the city government also organized book fairs from time to time, so as to promote reading habits especially among the youth.

The Nazim promised the announcement of grants for Dow and Sindh medical colleges and added that he would also help resolve the students’ problems.

Principal of Dow Medical College Prof Illahi Bux Soomro said he would approach higher authorities for construction of sports complex in the college.

MPA-elect Nasarullah Shajee and IJT Nazim Moneem Zafar also spoke.—APP
