ISLAMABAD, Aug 29: Police and security forces picked two persons allegedly involved in aborted plots of terrorism in the capital.

Sources said the arrest was made in the Chirah village in the limits of Nilor police. The suspects, they added, were brothers of Sardar Ali Khan, a naib qasid in the finance ministry, who allegedly provided accommodation to terrorists affiliated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan to carry out a suicide attack at a worship place on Jumatul Wida.

Police detained Lashkari Khan Khattak, the father of Sardar Ali Khan, who during interrogation led the police to the hideout of his two other sons.

Lashkari Khan was picked when his son's involvement in the foiled plot of the suicide attack was unearthed on Saturday after the arrest of six persons which also led to the recovery of a suicide jacket, hand grenades, pistols, bullets and US currency notes.

The sources said recovery was also made during the latest arrest but its details were kept secret.

The two suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigations.

The sources said eight persons had been arrested during the last three days in connection with the foiled attempt of terrorism on Jumatul Widah. Efforts were in progress to trace the suicide bomber and his facilitator, Sardar Ali Khan.

The arrested persons have also confessed to their involvement in the foiled attempt of terrorism at Pims some months back to target the president's late father who was under treatment there.
