HYDERABAD, Nov 7: The All Pakistan Clerks Association here on Thursday held a demonstration outside the office of the director general, health, against the abolition of 56 posts in the DG office.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial vice president of the association, Ashraf Bozai, said that the former secretary and the former director general, health, in a meeting had assured the office-bearers of the Apca that the number of the employees at the DG office would not be decreased.
He said that now the deputy director, health, Roshan Bhatti, was playing mischief as he had submitted a wrong proposal to the Sindh government, recommending that 24 employees should either be declared surplus or transferred to far-flung areas of the province.
He said that the provincial finance department was trying to adjust the employees of abolished posts in other departments but Mr Bhatti had refused to approach the finance department in this regard.
Demanding the immediate removal of Mr Bhatti, the labour leader said that the deputy director considered himself more powerful than the DG and he was threatening employees with dire consequences.
Others who spoke at the demonstration included Aslam Khan, Feroze Channa and Mirza Jane Alam.
They urged the employees to maintain unity in their ranks and foil conspiracies against them.
