ISLAMABAD, Nov 6: President General Pervez Musharraf has greeted the nation on the commencement of Ramazan.

In a message to the nation on the advent of Ramazan, the President said: “We are thankful to Allah Almighty for providing us an occasion to benefit from benedictions of Ramazan.”

He said Ramazan would provide the people an opportunity to fast during daytime and pray to Allah during the nights so that the Almighty bestows them with the courage and resolution to counter hardships and difficulties.

“Allah selected the sacred night of 27th Ramazanul Mubarak for Pakistan’s independence,” the President said.

The President said on one hand getting freedom during the month was a spiritual honour for the nation, while on the other hand it also carried a message that the Pakistani society must be reflective of a sacrificing, tolerant and poor loving society.

“Every moment of month of Ramazan is moment of worship besides providing us a spiritual training where we learn to completely submit to the will of God. This also leads us to a disciplined life with humbleness,” the President said.

He said, all of our actions should reflect the unity of Umet, follower of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) who was messenger of universal peace and harmony among the nations send by Allah Almighty to lead the human kind on the right path.

“This is the month when prayers bear success. Muslims fast during whole of the month that also teaches them patience and care for others,” the President maintained.

The President prayed to Allah to showers His benedictions on the nation and help in making the country a cradle of peace and security.—APP
