LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 23: The anti-corruption establishment (ACE), Lakki Marwat, has booked officials of Naurang tehsil municipal administration and a bank for inflicting losses on government exchequer by misappropriating funds of the civic body.

During an inquiry, the ACE officials learnt that some employees of TMA conspired with the officials of the United Bank, Naurang city branch, and made a withdrawal of over Rs1.8m from TMA accounts through bogus cheques with fake signatures of TMO and tehsil officer finance affixed on them, said an official on Tuesday. The official said the amount was reportedly embezzled between July and Nov last year. —Correspondent
