There was no rest in violence in Karachi as 23 more people were killed since Wednesday night, DawnNews reported. “Most of the killings have resulted from clashes between criminal gangs operating in Lyari and surrounding areas,” a senior police official said. - Photos by agencies

Difference of opinion or difference of choice has killed many people from the beginning of world .
It's very strange, hate, anger, violence is the out come of our difference of thoughts .
Just because the other person does not agree with us or does not hold the same ideas . Should never result in violence . we can control how we behave ,how we think , we cant control others thought process.
My best friend is from Karachi and everyday i browse this site to see if everything is fine in Karachi. And everyday i see killings and lose of humanity . IF this continues plp will not value life. Death will become just a Number .

What is the bottomeline? Uncontrollabe lawlessness in the city that defies every writ of the Government. If continued it would result in more deaths and destruction. Let the army come in to save the situation. Deepest condolenses to the survivors of the victims who lost their lives in this bloody violence.

Death has become just a number! During arson attacks, when these extremists snatch people's cars and valuables, if an old man takes more than a second to make a swift exit out of the car, the petrol-bomb is thrown in with the person still in! This happened to someone I know - an old man. :(

Inna lillaha Wa Inna Elahay Rajeon,
My deepest condolences to the families of those brothers who lost their lives. May Allah give their families, the strength to bare their losses, Ameen. I am really out of words as what to say, but I know that the Judgment of Allah is very near and it will befall upon those corrupt politicians and filthy elements of our society, who made us so restless, stressed and worried, these tears and cries from the innocent people will not go in vain.
May Allah punish those behind the unrest of my Dear Country, Ameen. Inshahallah, justice will be preserved in this world from Allah so very soon, as the signs of the last hour are becoming more and more visible every day.
Raza.

I hear stories about basic human rights abuses in Karachi and Pakistan everyday. How people inflict such pain on each other and society as a whole is an enigma to me. We are an Islamic nation; are we all hypocrites? We hold such pride in our religion, yet fail to abide by its very basic lessons.

These criminalpeople should be caught and hanged in public square after swift legal proceedings within limited times. The people responsible for security will be warned sternly to remove them from jobs for inaction.
Bleeding hear from NJ, America.

This is simply heartbreaking... I pray that people will learn to respect the sanctity of life. For something to be done, 'the people' not the political parties must stand up united against this.
If we let terrorist and villains take hold of our beloved city, then no one is going to be safe. The heat is getting to intense, its time to root out the culprits. They should not be given the benefit of silence...

That is too much. It's time to take actions against failed system. The irony is that not even single criminal has been arrested yet. What does it say? It says that these criminals have blessings of political parties and politicians. I am just waiting for that day that people of Pakistan come on the street for REVOLUTION or Pakistan Army take charge from the FAILED government.

This is a comment on the title of the article, not the story itself. It is an apt title, I believe the wordsof the title are from a Johnny Cash song called " Hurt." The lyrics of the song are, in my humble opinion, definitely worth reading. Interestingly, it was written by Trent Reznor ( previously from Nine Inch Nails) who appears to have matured tremendously as judged by the depth of the lyrics.

Why doesn't the army come and control the situation. What are they waiting for?. Perhaps more death. And people them self are to blame for this. If you don't stand up as 1 wether your from mQM or PPP or whatever you will die as an individual. STAND TOGETHER OR DIE AS AN INDIVIDUAL. Can't live your life like this everyday. No way to raise your kids in this environment. Wake up Karachi

Really sad to see such escalating violence in a flourishing city of Pakistan. my heart goes out to victim's families. Children & women indiscriminately being targeted begs the question why the security establishments not putting all the might to root out the perpetrators of the crime. what social groups are working to draw away youngsters and unemployed from becoming involved. society leaders across the ethnic would have to step up and jointly appeal for this to stop. Innocent citizens must be protected and peace restored to this city. i wish my friends remain safe there

As an onlooker, there can be only words unsaid, feelings that don't find expression. A burgeoning population may mean that an " old man " may not be missed for too long, but it's still us who are answerable.

I do not think Pakistan has a government that cares for the lives of innocent people. In most cities terrorists and gangs are killing people. If that does not stop, do not blame the future generation what they will do. Does not the government realize that Pakistan is bleeding and if this bleeding does not stop, the nation will do.

I would say it is very decisive moment for government. They have failed to protect innocent citizens of Karachi. Govenment has no other choice but take it on the face. They have to make fool proof plan to overcome this lawlessness in Karachi. Otherwise, they should ready to step down. Please we dont need any more bloodshed in the month of Ramadan, we need peace and prosperity for Pakistan. May Allah give strength to the devastated families so that they can bear their loses. Ameen

Why can this reporting about the killings be not done without publicizing the most devastating moments of a family? They have just lost a loved one, and reporters and their photographers are busy taking their pictures. These are very private moments, let them grieve in peace. What do we get by looking at the pictures of the crying relatives??

Where are we headed into.. the dark ages that the Prophet (PBUH) came to take us out from. How do we justify the cost of Human lives now. Death has become a number, it is salvaged at a cost of a cellphone. Muslims of Pakistan, do you not fear your grave or Gods justice when it unleashes upon you. Have you no faith, no remorse, no repercussion. How does one sleep at night feeling that he has killed a person for a mere cellphone. How? I am much interested in finding answers

It's no big secret that behind these criminal gangs are men of power. Until everyone of these "badmash", corrupt and false talking individuals are removed and their ill-gotten wealth confiscated, as in north Africa, will this land become PAK-is-tan. Long live Pakistan and Islamic truth.

The situation in karachi is deplorable but it is the outcome of policies of present regime as reconciliation with cirminals, land grabbers & mafias will only result what is being observed in Karachi. They must take action against all these mafias instead of time gaining time to complete their tenure. The people must realize that present corrupt leaders should be repleced with new faces in the elections of 2013 and if these leaders are got re-elected than our entire nation will be destroyed and Qaid's efforts for this nation will go in vain.

Everyday Dawn is reporting the killings! It looks like they just have to change the number of deaths!!!! The only solution is to fall back to non-violence.
I'm an Indian and I'm today very proud - all you guys look at thousands and thousands coming in support of Anna.
Guys do this.. come to streets peacefully and protest. We both started our journeys together and we both have lot of problems but I feel we should go back to Mahatma's ways to resolve them. Even you were part of larger India then. So you know the techniques! Good luck.

Even if its not for the path of Mahatama, Pakistanis still can revert to the philosophy of the Mahatam comrade Bacha Khan (the Frontier Gandhi) and stop violence. Pakistanis have yet to accept that Bacha Khan was an enlightened politician than the so many we inherited or raised in Pakistan.

Its only the matter of law and order... I am living in Saudi Arabia since 20 years and everybody know the crime rate is zero over here just because we believe that the criminal will be punished positively. Here the law is equal for all from King to a simple layman.
