LAHORE, Aug 16: A judicial magistrate of Model Town courts on Tuesday granted Kahna police three-day physical remand of a woman who allegedly killed her teenaged servant for not serving food to a pet dog.

Taqi Usman, of Chiniot, was a servant with Sadia Asif in Valencia Town. The police registered an FIR against her on the complaint of Usman’s father.

According to police investigation, Sadia had ordered Usman to serve food to her dog when she was going to market on Saturday. On her return, she found that the boy had not followed her order which made her infuriated. She locked Usman in a room and tortured her. During the torture, the boy suffered a heavy blow on his vital organs which led to his death.

After the incident, the accused took the body of the boy to his family in Chiniot and claimed that he died of natural death. The family rejected her claim and lodged a complaint with the police. Sadia, however, claimed that Taqi died naturally.

The investigating officer produced her before magistrate Ashfaq Ahmad and sought her remand. The magistrate allowed the request and directed the police to produce her again on Thursday.
