
KARACHI: In line with the agreements reached between the PPP and MQM on Aug 6, the Sindh revenue department issued on Monday a notification restoring the status of districts of Tando Mohammad Khan, Matiari and Tando Allahyar and reducing the limits of Hyderabad district.
The three districts were made part of Hyderabad district on July 9 when the Sindh government reintroduced the commissioner system in the province.
The revenue department restored the status of the districts to the April 2005 position in exercise of powers conferred under section 6 of the Sindh Land Revenue Act of 1967, which was amended this year.
The latest notification, issued by the revenue department in continuation of its July 9 notification, said: “The government of Sindh is pleased to restore the notification No 8/41/2005/Revenue I (IV) 352, 353 and 354 dated April 4, 2005, regarding creation of districts Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan and Matiari and notification 358 dated April 4, 2005, regarding composition of Hyderabad district and restore the position of Hyderabad district as it stood on July 7, 2011.”
