RIYADH, Nov 3: Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, whose kingdom claims it is being targeted by a misleading campaign by some Western media, argued Saturday that it was also victimizing all Muslims.

“Known parties are behind the (Western) press campaign targeting Saudi Arabia, Islam and Muslims,” the de facto Saudi ruler told an international Islamic conference here, cited by the state SPA news agency.

“You are all targeted .. not only Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Sudan or other (countries) .. what is being targeted is Islam,” he said.

Saudi Arabia sees itself as the target of a concerted onslaught in the US media because 15 of the 19 suicide hijackers who attacked Washington and New York on September 11, 2001 were Saudi citizens.—AFP
