Nephew kills uncle

ATTOCK, Aug 5: A person was killed by his real nephew over a family dispute in Bahtar village. Police said here on Friday that Muhammad Tariq was allegedly attacked by his nephew Khurram Shehzad on Thursday evening. Resultantly, he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. He informed the police that his nephew became angry and attacked him when he tried to stop him from doing an immoral act.

After recording the statement, he succumbed to his injuries. Bahtar police registered a murder case against the accused and started investigating. — Correspondent

Two die in separate incidents

CHAKWAL, Aug 5: Two persons were killed in separate incidents here on Friday.

Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Munday village, was returning home after offering Maghrib prayers when Ghulam Hussain and his son Israr Ahmed allegedly attacked him with clubs. He was taken to District Headquarters Hospital with serious head injuries, where he died.

The police said the quarrel took place over children’s fight. It may be mentioned that this was the third murder in the district during the last five days.

In another incident, a man was killed after his motorcycle rammed into a stationary trolley on the road. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Naeem, 24, a resident of Dhoda village. — Correspondent

Old enmity claims life

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5: A man was gunned down by his relatives in capital’s rural area on Friday to settle an old score.

Tariq Mehmood, 55, was intercepted by his relatives in village Kirpa, in Kural when he was going to offer Friday’s prayer. One of his relatives armed with a 12-bore gun fired a single shot at him and escaped.

Hearing the gunshot the villagers and his family members rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. They shifted him to hospital but he died on his way to the hospital.

The police said that the two families were engaged in enmity and a couple of years back a maternal uncle of the other family was gunned down by the victim’s family. — Staff Reporter

Body found

ATTOCK, Aug 5: The police recovered body of a woman, who was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband some days back.

Police sources said that Qaisar Rehman was arrested by Hasanabdal Saddar police on the charges of killing his wife. During interrogation, he disclosed that he had killed his wife with a knife and buried her body at a deserted place near a Nullah. The police, on information, recovered the body and the crime weapon.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old boy, Shahid Rauf, drowned in a Nullah near Langar village when he was swimming with his friends. His body was fished out by some local rescuers and handed over to the parents. — Correspondent

Booked for injuring woman

CHAKWAL, Aug 5: A man was booked for injuring a woman, police said on Friday.

Munawer Begum, of Kariyal village, told the Saddar police that Shahid Ali barged into her house and attacked her with a screwdriver injuring her in the neck.

Meanwhile, another man was booked on the charge of injuring his father, police said.

Mohammad Inayat, of Dalailpur village, told the Choa Syedan Shah police that his son Mohammad Saeed attacked him over a domestic dispute. — Correspondent
