Acid attack

MULTAN, Nov 2: A married woman sustained burns in acid attack here on Saturday morning.

Qutabpur police said Muhammad Sartaj reported that his wife, Nargis, was alone in the house in Mohallah Muhammadpura when suspect Jamilur Rahman of Mahmoodabad came there.

She asked the trespasser to get out of the house but he took out a bottle of acid hidden under his clothes, poured it on her and fled from the scene.

She was admitted to the Nishtar Hospital. Doctors said her face and eyes have been affected and the burns were 20 per cent.

Police have registered a case and started investigations.—APP
