ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: The Progressive Women Association (PWA) on Friday arranged a demonstration to show solidarity with the people of Fatehjang against the rape and murder of a girl.

Sobia Tabussam, a 14-year-old girl, was raped allegedly by Abdul Jabbar on October 19. Sobia, a Hafiza and a student of class six, was coming back from school when Abdul Jabbar allegedly dragged her into the nearby fields where he raped her and later strangled her. Her body was found the next day on October 20 from the fields.

Shahnaz Bokhari, while leading the protest rally, condemned the brutal act and demanded immediate action against the culprit. She alleged that the police and the administration were favouring the accused.

The protesters demanded of the government to take immediate action against the culprit within three days otherwise the people of Fatehjang would stage a demonstration in front of the Supreme Court.
