ISLAMABAD, July 14: A banned outfit on Thursday said its deputy spokesman was abducted by government officials on July 12.
In a statement Hizb ut-Tahrir said the deputy spokesman, Imran Yousafzai, was abducted when he arrived at the house of a “respectable journalist” on the morning of July 12.
The government officials waiting for the spokesman at the house abducted him, it alleged. Since then, his whereabouts are not known, the statement said.
It said another activist – Hayan Khan – was also abducted on Wednesday when he was going to his office.
The statement said the HT activists staged protest outside the National Press Club and an office of a private TV channel. The protesters condemned the abductions and demanded release of the two men.— Staff Reporter
