RAWALPINDI, July 13: Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has paid tribute to officers and soldiers who laid down their lives while fighting terrorists in Mohmand Agency.

Addressing troops at Wali Dad Top, near the Afghan border, the army chief attributed the success to outstanding combat skills and high morale of the armed forces and FC.

According an ISPR press release, Gen Kayani praised joint operations carried out by the army and air force to clear the Suran sector of militants.

He also met the area notables and thanked them for their support for military operations. He called upon tribesmen to take responsibility and effective control for ensuring sustainable peace.

He directed the military and civil authorities to extend all possible support to the displaced people returning to their areas.—APP
