PESHAWAR, July 11: Police recovered weapons and arrested two persons during a search operation in Tela Bund area here on Monday.

A statement said police raided the hujra of Fazal Amin in Tela Bund area and arrested two persons Mamoor and Shah Zaman. Two hand grenades, one rocket launcher, two Kalashnikovs and dozens of rounds were also recovered from the hujra.

In another raid police recovered 20kg hashish from a car bearing registration number LOJ-3241. Two alleged carriers identified as Ilyas Khan and Kamran were arrested. Police said that contraband was being smuggled to Punjab.
