SUKKUR, July 11: A man and two boys were killed during a police raid on the Ali Sher Janwari village in Rohri taluka on Sunday night.

According to police, the three were killed in crossfire when criminals opened fire during the raid.

Ghulam Hyder Janwari, 14, and Fayaz Janwari, 7, died on the spot while Samiullah was seriously injured and died before getting any medical help,

But relatives of the deceased accused police of raiding the village without any warrant and killing the innocent children by opening fire at them. None of them was involved in any crime, they said.

The relatives held a demonstration and a sit-in outside the press club here on Monday in protest against what they called murder by police. An FIR has been lodged against the raiding police party at the Kandhra police station.

Police claimed to have taken the action after receiving information about presence of criminals in the village.

Sukkur SSP Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya was not available for comments.
