Kamran, Azhar on goal spree

LAHORE, Oct 28: Six goals by Kamran Noorud Din and five by Azhar Ali steered Travel Quest to a emphatic 12-5 1/2 victory over Falcons in the Members Cup Polo Tournament on the first day of the Lahore Polo Club’s season for 2002-2003 Monday.

Kamran and Azhar struck a hat trick each. Aurangzeb Monnoo contributed one goal.

With an half goal handicap, Falcons scored five goals in the match. Umar Sadik contributed four goals while Mohsin chipped in a goal.

Kamran drew first blood, but Sadik gave a quick reply scoring a field goal three minutes later. Azhar and Kamran then added a goal each while Sadik netted his second as the first chukker concluded with Travel Quest leading 3-2 1/2.

Travel Quest dominated the second chukker adding four goals while Falcons could add only one.

Azhar scored his hat trick by netting three consecutive goals followed by teammate Aurangzeb who converted a 30 yarder penalty hit. Sadik scored the lone goal for the losers as Travel Quest ended the chukker with 7-3 1/2 lead.

In the third chukker Azhar scored his last goal while Kamran his third. Mohsin scored one goal for Falcons to reduce the lead 9-4 1/2.

In the fourth chukker, Sadik struck his fourth goal first. But  from there onwards it was Kamran who dominated the proceedings.

He scored three goals in a row to complete his hat trick and win the game for Travel Quest.

Falcons: Mohsin Khosa (0), Wassay Mehta (-1), Umar Sadik (2), Babar Monnoo (-2).
