Encroachments
GUJAR KHAN, June 29: Encroachments in the city have become a source of inconvenience for the residents while the town municipal administration remains oblivious to the problem.
Areas in the city like the service road, Hayatsar Road, main bazaar, Halwaie Gali, Tehsil Road, Railway Road etc., have been literally been occupied by encroachers making it almost impossible for vehicular traffic as well as the pedestrians to pass through.
When contacted, Chaudhry Rab Nawaz Minhas, the assistant commissioner and administrator of the TMA Gujar Khan, regretted that the town officer regulations had been ignoring his repeated instructions to initiate action against the encroachers.
Under these circumstances of inaction on part of TMA authorities, the residents have called upon the chief secretary Punjab to direct prompt action against the officials concerned who were providing protection to the encroachers.
They also demanded clearance of roads and streets from encroachments.— Correspondent
