KARACHI: Team Pakistan bagged another gold, silver and bronze medal at the Special Olympics World Summer Games on Wednesday.

The gold medal was won by Tuesday’s silver medalist cyclist Sana Javed, this time in the 5km time trial while Fajar Zaheer ended up sixth in the same event.

In swimming, Pakistan’s Husnain Abbas Zaidi picked up a silver medal in 25-metre backstroke as Syed Ahsan Ali finished fourth in the event.

The 10km road race saw Billawal Aslam, who already has a gold medal in cycling, coming third to take the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, qualifying matches continue in badminton. Pakistan men’s team beat Uruguay 24-6 and women’s team beat Turkey 30-7. Preliminaries in athletics and football were also held.— Agencies
