KARACHI, June 29: The Vital Five Club in collaboration with the Customs Cricket Academy (CCA) is organising the Ramazan Festival Twenty20 cricket tournament here at the Vital Five Club Cricket Ground, Khayaban-e-Rahat Phase-VI DHA from the first of the holy month.

According to details provided by former Pakistan paceman Jalaluddin, who is the chief organiser of the event, the tournament will be first of its kind to be played in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) vicinity.

A total of 16 major club and department teams of the city will compete in the tournament which carries Rs700,000 in prize money with the winners to receive Rs400,000 and the runners-up Rs200,000.

The Man-of-the-Match of each preliminary round fixture would pocket Rs2,000, Rs3,000 apiece at the quarter-final stage, Rs5,000 in the semi-finals and Rs10,000 in the final.

Jalaluddin further said hopefully the country’s top players will participate in the tournament since there would not be any restriction for players’ registration.
