PESHAWAR, Oct 27: The residents of Daudzai on Sunday staged a protest demonstration blocking the Peshawar-Charsadda road after two butchers got electrocuted due to rundown wiring in the slaughter house.

Witnesses told Dawn that Jehangir Khan, son of Misal Khan, was electrocuted when he touched the live wire in the slaughter house near Lady Sarak on Saturday night. His colleague Raza Khan of Tehkal also was injured trying to save him.

Raza Khan was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where he died on Sunday morning.

To disperse the protesters the police resorted to baton-charge and fired tear-gas shells.
