RAWALPINDI, Oct 26: Taimur Hasan stayed ahead in the President of Pakistan Cup Tournament Saturday, with a round of four over par 76 at the Rawalpindi Golf Club for a gross aggregate of 149 going into the final day.

A stroke behind was his Islamabad Club mate, Gulrez Shahid who had an aggregate of 150 after striking two over par 74. Karar Hussain of DHA Golf Club and Adil Jahangir of Lahore Gymkhana were joint third.

Karar had a round of eight over par 80 while Adil carded par 72 heading into Sunday’s final day with aggregate scores of 150. The gross tournament is being contested for the Attock Bowl.

Gulrez Shahid became the new leader in the net competition with a net score of three under par 69 for a total of 140. Close on his heels was Inayatullah of Kabul Golf Club, Swat who finished on net 70. Rawalpindi golfers Kashif M. Khan and Karim Khan Satti were tied for third spot at 144.

Wamiq Shakeel of the host club claimed the junior gross title with an overall total of 165 while M. Umer Khokhar (168) was the runner-up and Bilal Tariq (184) took third place.

Zohair Alam (122) was the winner of the junior net tournament followed by Haider Attiq who was second (125) and Salman Jahangir (128) third.

The 36 hole ladies competition began Saturday in which Mrs Tahira Nazir led the gross field, carding 84 while Uzma Nazir (91) occupied the second place.

Uzma however was in front in the net event with a round of 70 followed by Rubab Haider (74) and Mrs Asma Afzal (76).
