KARACHI, June 15: Eight ships, including car carrier Alliance Norfolk with 386 cars are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, including two bulk cargo loaders, Mercy Wisdom, and Nirmal Gautam, container vessels, and President Adams were berthed after the departure of a dozen.

The ships, which departed were led by APL Ruby, Nadeem, Battery Park, Cosco Kawasaki, Yuan Tang, Hanjin Monaco, m.t. Lahore, and Golden Falcon.

They were followed by C.S.L. Ride, Seagull-D, Banjo Bridge, and Chemstar Brave, while African Jaguar, Ocean Friend and Hyundai Confidence are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total volume of 91,767 tons comprising 32,813 tons of export cargo, including 5,932 tons of wheat and 58,954 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following vessels are due on Thursday; Leader, with mogas, Oriental Chemi, with base oil, Greenwich Bridge, APL Chicago, with containers, Maritime Satoshio and Spar Virgo with coal and Calmy Coral, with general cargo.
