QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani announced on Thursday that he had withdrawn his resignation after a misunderstanding with Chief Minister Aslam Raisani had been resolved.

Mr Bhootani resigned from his office on June 3 and faxed the letter of resignation to Governor Nawab Zulfikar Magsi, citing differences with Chief Minister Raisani over some decisions the latter made about his constituency.

Talking to newsmen by telephone from Karachi, Mr Bhootani said he had decided to withdraw his resignation after holding talks with a delegation of provincial ministers.
