The application of Aziz had been received and that of interior minister Moinuddin Haider was also expected to be filed shortly, he said.

PML(Q) central information secretary Azeem Chaudhry said the party had, so far, received over 40 applications for the Senate tickets. However, he did not disclose the names of the applicants.

Regarding the party’s strength in the National Assembly after the joining of independent candidates, he claimed that their tally had improved to 95 members. The party originally had bagged 77 seats.
