HARIPUR,  Oct 24: District Nazim Dr Raja Amir Zaman has urged the donor countries and agencies to make funding for development schemes in  rural areas through local government representatives.

Speaking at a workshop, he said that with the implementation of district government system, the role of the elected representatives had become  more important for the development of rural areas.

He recommended declaration of one village in each union council of the district as a model village with all the civic amenities. The Nazim sought the help of donor countries in coping with growing unemployment through computer literacy program.
