8 killed in accident

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 23: Eight people were killed and 14 others injured in a head-on collision between a coach and a wagon at Karia Gaamoo on the Indus Highway in the limits of Jampur tehsil, Rajanpur, on Wednesday.

A speeding coach (LHO-8711) coming from Karachi collided with a Jampur-bound wagon (GTC-4844) at Karia Gaamoo. Eight people, including four women and a child, died instantly, while 14 others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to a local hospital from where two of them were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital due to critical condition.

Those killed included Sher Mohammad, Mohammad Iqbal Chandia, Sadiq Khan, Sharifan Mai, Amina Mai and Bachul Mai. The names of two deceased could not be ascertained.
