PML(Q) to finalize PM’s name today

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League(Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will preside over a party meeting on Thursday to decide about the name of Mir Zafarullah Jamali as its candidate for the office of prime minister, party sources disclosed here on Wednesday.

Chaudhry Shujaat was elected parliamentary leader by the party and empowered to name a party candidate for the top slot in first parliamentary meeting on Tuesday.

When asked if the name of Zubaida Jalal as party candidate has been dropped, a senior party leader said: “Her name was never on the list.”

Among the leaders who will meet to decide on Thursday, include Mian Azhar, Majeed Malik, Iftikhar Gilani, Salim Saifullah Khan, Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr, Fakhar Imam, Gohar Ayub and Azim Chaudhry.
