CHAKWAL, May 16: An owner of a poultry farm has been kidnapped for ransom, police said.

Saleem Asghar, a resident of Dhairi Syedan village, was sleeping at the poultry farm on Saturday night when he was abducted.

The kidnappers have demanded Rs15 million for his release.

“They have given us deadline of two days,” Abid, younger brother of Asghar, told Dawn . “We are not rich. Even if we sell our all property, we cannot collect Rs15 million.”

He said his brother did not have enmity with anyone. “The family is spending sleepless nights. We want immediate and safe recovery of Asghar.”

SHO Sohawa police station Chaudhry Arshad told Dawn that police were making efforts for recovery of the abducted man.

He said as the kidnappers were making “incessant calls to the family”, it had helped police to trace them. He added that the abductors were somewhere between Gujar Khan and Jatli.
