KARACHI, Oct 21: Pakistan Muslim League (N) will never accept the election results and formulate its future strategy with the cooperation of other democratic forces in the country.

This was stated by the PML(N), Sindh, acting President Imdad Hussain Chandio and Secretary Information Syed Hafeezuddin while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Monday.

They also distributed a written statement among journalists recalling the background of the Chief Election Commissioner and claiming that the outcome of the elections was according to the pre-poll rigging plan aimed at producing a parliament which should always remain at the mercy of Gen Parvez Musharraf and the army.

They also mentioned the government-sponsored parties and groups who, according to them, were given a free hand in the election and allowed to use of district governments’ resources for the campaigns of their favourite candidates.

They pointed out that although there was a ban on character assassination under the code of conduct, the EC did not pay any attention to the full-page newspaper ads against certain leaders.

The PML(N) leaders said that the party had gathered information about election rigging, the first part of which was released in Islamabad and which pin-pointed the change of results pertaining to the NA90 and PA184 constituencies.

More details of the rigging, they added, would be published in the white paper to be released soon.
