LAHORE, May 13: The Punjab government has allotted residences in GOR-I being occupied by ‘influential’ retired officers to its senior serving officials belonging to various services.

According to a handout issued here on Friday, the Punjab government has allotted residences to the officers belonging to various service groups under allotment policy in GOR-I. “These allotments are made on merit and entitlement which has equally benefited the officers of federal and provincial service groups.”

Sources said some of the retired officials have been in possession of the residences for more than seven years. Even those were made PPSC members after retirement were not entitled to official residences.

Those who have been allotted the residences are Special Secretary Home Department Shaukat Ali, Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Muhammad Ali Baloch, Members Board of Revenue Muhammad Akram Javed and Mian Nazir Ahmad, Members Chief Minister Inspection Team Mrs Kausar Ghafar, Anwaar Hussain and Ms Fehmida Mushtaq, and Safdar Hussain of Income Tax Group.

Secretary Finance Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Transport Capt Muhammad Yousaf (retired), Secretary Special Initiatives Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan, Hassan Iqbal, Secretary Labour Dr Ijaz Munir, MD Punjab Seed Corporation Muzaffar Mehmood, Secretary Population Welfare Javed Akhtar, Secretary Industries Dr Shujat Ali, Secretary P&D Ali Tahir, Member Board of Revenue Khalid Masood Chaudhry, Secretary I&C Syed Mubashar Raza, Member Board of Revenue Irfan Ali, Secretary Literacy Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, Member P&D Imran Nazir, Project Director Tariq Najeeb Najmi, DG Archaeology Haroon Ahmed Khan, DG Child Protection Bureau Ms Iram Bukhari, Member Board of Revenue Capt Jahanzeb Khan (retired) and Secretary Information Mohyuddin Ahmad.
