LAHORE, May 3: Special teams constituted by the City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) and town municipal administrations on Tuesday removed illegal encroachments in various towns of the metropolis.

According to a handout, the officials razed illegal structures on Rajbah Road, Jallo Mor, Batapur, Karol Bazaar, Salamatpura, Naqshbandi Bazaar and Sultan Mahmood Road localities of Wagha Town, Chah Meeran, Neelam Cinema Road and Naulakha Chowk of Shalamar Town, Yateem Khana, Bund Road, Raiwind Road, Shaukat Khanum Hospital Road and Allah-Hoo Chowk.

The teams also removed encroachments in various localities of Data Ganj Bakhsh, Nishtar, Aziz Bhatti, Ravi and Samanabad towns, the handout said.

FIRE DAY: The CDGL will hold a ceremony to mark International Fire Day on Wednesday (today).

A handout said speakers, including the Punjab education minister and CDGL Administrator Ahad Cheema, would highlight the importance of fire brigade services.
