LAHORE: 25 judges promoted

LAHORE, Oct 19: The administrative committee of the Lahore High Court has promoted the following 25 additional district and sessions judges as district and sessions judges on an officiating basis:

Mr.Mumtaz Munawwar Khan Niazi, Mr.Shaukat Ali Zaidi, Mr.Muhammad Gulzar Ahmed Butt, Mr.Allah Bakhsh Ranjha, Mr.Ghulan Rasool, Syed Afzal Sharif Kazmi, Mr.Shahbaz Hassan Gardezi, Mr.Maqsood Ahmed Baitoo, Mr.A.D.Khalid, Mr.Rao Shafey Ali Khan, Mr.Attaullah Kausar, Mr.Baqir Ali Rana, Mr.Mehboob Elahi Sheikh, Mr.Muhammad Aslam Bhatti, Mr.Muhammad Siddiq Tabbasum, Mr.Bashir Ahmed Bhatti, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Mr.Muhammad Irshad Sipra, Mr.Tahir Pervez, Mr.Irshadullah Khan Sial, Mirza Rafiuz Zaman, Mr.Zahoorul Haq Rana, Syed Akhlaq Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Younas and Mr.Muhammad Maqbool Bajwa.

The committee also decided to allow the petition of District and Sessions Judge (retired) Syed Muhammad Rafiq Shah for grant of selection grade BS-21.

The committee promoted Mr.Zafrullah Khan Tarar, Civil Judge, First Class, Vehari, as senior civil judge on officiating basis.

The suspension period of Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Muzaffargarh Mian Muhammad Younas was extended for a further period of three months with effect from Nov 7.

Senior Special Judge Chaudhry Zafar Husain of the Anti-Corruption, Lahore, was nominated to hold regular inquiry against Ali Dastgir Syed, Additional Sessions Judge/Officer on Special Duty, Lahore High Court, Lahore.

The LHC administrative committee took the decisions at a meeting held here with Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry in chair. — Reporter
