HYDERABAD, Oct 19: An old woman has appealed to the president, the Sindh governor and other officials concerned to order the arrest of the murderers of her son and provide protection to the bereaved family.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, the woman, Haleema Khatoon, said her son, Asadullah, was murdered on Aug 2 by a landlord, Saeed Ahmad, who was a close relative of the family, and four other persons.

The woman, belonging to Karam Kandhro goth, Warah taluka, Larkana district, said one of the accused had been arrested and alleged Ahmad and the other accused were roaming about freely under the patronage of police.

She said her family was also being threatened with dire consequences if the case was not withdrawn.

She said her son was murdered when he refused to hand over a land which he had purchased to Ahmad.
