Camp from 20th

Published November 14, 2001

LAHORE, Nov 13: The Pakistan football training camp to prepare national Seniors and Under-23 teams for the forthcoming competition will begin at the Model Town ground here from Nov 20.

A Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) spokesman said on Tuesday that the Model Town ground was the only venue available in Lahore for the camp after the Railways Sports Control Board had refused to give its Railways Stadium on rent to the federation, despite various requests. The seniors team will be finalised to compete in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Gold Cup tournament to be  held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from Jan 25 to Feb 4, 2002.

The Under-23 team is to take part in the SAF Games to be  held at Islamabad in March-April next year.

The  names of the probables for the camp and officials  would be announced in couple of days, the spokesman said.
