KARACHI: Nationalist parties in Sindh were holding a province-wide shutter down strike on Saturday against alleged irregularities in the house counting phase of the census, DawnNews reported.

Trading centres, bazaars and gas stations had halted operations in Sindh's Mirpurkhas region on the appeal of the nationalist parties. Moreover, traffic was also thin in the region.

Trading centres were also shut across the Tando Adam region and people were experiencing difficulties due to the unavailability of public transport.

Moreover, trading activity was also at a standstill in the province's Jacobabad, Badin and Shikarpur regions.

Numerous political and religious parties also issued calls supporting the strike.
