PESHAWAR, Oct 18: The Water and Power Development Authority has announced special package for defaulters with a view to expediting its recovery drive in the country.

Under the package the defaulters will get 25 to 50 per cent concession.

A press release issued here on Thursday said the authority had announced special package for defaulters according to which consumers who had been in default for the last five years would get advantage of the package.

According to the new package, the Wapda had given 50 per cent concession to its consumers who are in default of Rs25,000, while those against whom Rs50,000 to Rs100,000 had been outstanding would get 25 per cent concession.

Similarly, consumers who had been in default of Rs25,000 to Rs100,000 for more than five years would get 75 per cent concession.

The Water and Power Development Authority has directed the defaulters to pay outstanding dues by Oct 31.
