TIMERGARA, April 24: The body of a local trader, who was kidnapped by unidentified armed persons near his hometown Khungi on Saturday evening, was found in Arang area of Bajaur Agency on Sunday. Sources said that Jauhar Ali, 43, a well known businessman of Timergara, was returning home in his car on Saturday evening when gunmen intercepted him near Jihazono ground on Khungi Road. The armed men beat his driver Fauji and took him away in another car, they added.

“The driver called us and within 10 to 15 minutes police were informed about the kidnapping,” his relatives said.

On Sunday morning, the family was informed that Jauhar's body was lying in Alizai area of Arang in Bajaur Agency. The Zulam Bridge that links Dir and Arang in Bajaur is guarded by the personnel of Frontier Corps, police, Dir Levies and Bajaur Levies.

The victim had been shot from a close range and his body had five bullet injuries, four in the chest and one in the head, hospital sources said.

Local traders placed his body on road at Gorgorai Chowk in the main city and held a protest demonstration.

Haji Anwarud Din, the president of Anjuman-i-Tajaran Timergara, said that they would observe complete shutter-down strike for two days as protest against failure of police and administration to arrest the killers. —Correspondent
