KARACHI, April 22: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has urged the government and the military leadership to convene a roundtable conference to come up with a ‘line of action’ against US drone attacks in Pakistan.

According to a statement issued from London on Friday, the MQM chief strongly condemned the drone attacks in North Waziristan and expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives of innocent people, including children and women.

“Drone strikes in Pakistan in the name of war on terror and killing of innocent people are in fact an attack on security and sovereignty of the country and cannot be justified by any reasoning.”

He regretted that drone attacks continued unabated despite strong protests by the people.

He said that all religious and political parties, chiefs of armed forces and heads of institutions responsible for national security should be invited to the proposed roundtable conference and a decisive line of action should be formulated on the basis of their opinions.
