LAHORE, April 20: The new revenue administration which is directly under the control of the Punjab government was launched in the province on Wednesday with the posting of officials against the newly-created structure in the field.

The posts of the revenue officers in districts created under the Local Government Ordinance, 2001, also stood abolished, ending the district governments’ control over the revenue administration after 10 years.

Officers so far working as executive districts officers for revenue (EDORs) were either posted as additional commissioners for revenue or consolidation in the offices of the divisional commissioners or were adjusted against vacant posts in district governments or somewhere else.

Except for Lahore district officer for revenue (DOR) Zulfiqar Gumman, all other officers of the rank were posted additional collectors of the districts where they were working prior to the new dispensation.

The new revenue administration will function under the control of the Punjab government (Board of Revenue) through divisional commissioners, who also assumed the appellate powers of the abolished posts of EDORs on Wednesday. Rajanpur EDO (R) Muhammad Ashraf Bhatti was posted Layyah EDO F&P, Dera Ghazi Khan EDO (R) Syed Amjad Hussain Bukhari Khanewal EDO F&P, Sialkot EDO (R) Tariq Zaman Khan Sialkot EDO F&P, Toba Tek Singh EDO (R) Naseer Ahmad Khan Sahiwal EDO F&P, Attock EDO (R) Syed Muhammad Amil Shah Lodhran EDO F&P, Hafizabad EDO F&P Syed Ali Ausat Sheikhupura EDO community development (CD) vice Rana Naseer Ahmad who was posted director at the Punjab Auqaf Organisation, (Estate), Lahore.

Also, Chiniot EDO (R) Khalid Mahmood Mela was posted Chiniot EDO F&P, Gujranwala EDO (R) Iqbal Hussain project director of Pak-Canada Debt Swap Project, Jhelum EDO (R) Matiullah Khan Attock EDO F&P, Hafizabad EDO (R) Khawar Kamal Hafizabad EDO F&P, Muzaffargarh EDO (R) Muzaffar Khan EDO F&P Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar EDO (R) Sajjad Hussain Shah Mianwali EDO CD while Faisalabad EDO (R) Liaqat Ali Chattha was directed to report to the S&GAD.

Sheikhupura EDO (R) Adnan Arshad Aulakh was posted development and finance director at the office of Faisalabad commissioner, while Punjab Employees Social Security Institution, Lahore, administration director Muhammad Taqi Qureshi was posted deputy secretary (confidential) at the S&GAD.

ADDITIONAL COLLECTORS: Except for one, all the district officers for revenue (DORs) were posted as additional collectors of the districts at the place of their present posting.

Lahore DOR Zulfiqar Ghumman was directed to report to the S&GAD. Instead Lahore EDO (R) Nadir Chattha was posted additional collector, Lahore.
